Our School
Located in Tung Chung, our school houses eight spacious and bright classrooms all of which are accessed through a central shared space that runs the length of the building and offers children several additional learning environments which include; a large atelier, library, children’s kitchen, physical area and an inviting outdoor garden. We offer well planned learning experiences for children aged 2-5 years. Children attend either five morning (8.30-11.30am) or 5 afternoon (1-4pm) sessions per week. We offer two streams: English and Bilingual. We are an IB World School and follow the Primary Years Programme (PYP).
Bilingual Classes
In the Bilingual classes two teachers and one educational assistant work with 24 children. One teacher speaks native English and the other native Chinese and both spend 100% of their time in class. Chinese and English are used throughout the session to support children’s learning in all areas of the curriculum and across child initiated play experiences and small group and whole class teacher led inquiries. Both teachers are responsible for planning, teaching and the documentation of children’s learning.
The Bilingual class carries an additional fee for parents in order to cover the cost of there being two class teachers.
English Classes
In the English classes one teacher and two educational assistants work with 24 children. English is used throughout the session to support children’s learning in all areas of learning and across different contexts such as child initiated play experiences and small group and whole class teacher led inquiries.
In addition, members of the Chinese teaching team will spend time in each of the English classes to provide learning experiences focused on Chinese language and culture.
All children who move on to an ESF Primary School or College will continue to build upon the foundations laid in Kindergarten.
